Vision Sunday: 3 day to go!

With only three days to go till our Vision Sunday I’m very, very excited! Last night we had a good evening with our excellent small group leaders as we shared with them the vision. It was a great time and there was a clear sense of God’s presence with us.

As part of my preparation for Sunday I’ve been mediating afresh on Acts 2:42-47. These are glorious verses, which feel like a ‘fly on the wall’ account of those early days of the church in Jerusalem. Why not read these verses again in preparation for Sunday!

42 And athey devoted themselves to the apostles’ bteaching and the cfellowship, to dthe breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe4 came upon every soul, and emany wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and fhad all things in common. 45 And fthey were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, gattending the temple htogether and ibreaking bread in their homes, they received their food jwith glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and khaving favor with all the people. And the Lord ladded to their number mday by day those who nwere being saved. [1]

A Reasoned Faith – Easter Sunday

Richard Dawkins, the author of ‘The God Delusion’ is famously recorded as saying:

“Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence.”

Is Richard Dawkins right? Is faith just ‘the blind leading the blind’ or a ‘great leap in the dark’ or using Dawkins phrase the great human ‘cop-out’?

On Easter Sunday we will be exploring the evidences or proofs for the actual bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Please come and join us!

Time: 10:30am

Venue: Nene Family Church, Church Centre, Fletton Avenue, Peterborough.
